The next day, Kate and I took the bus back to Macas, because I had to teach school. Chris and Miles left on a bus to take Chris back to Quito to fly back home.

What a wonderful week we had!!! Thank you so much Kate and Chris!!
Love you dearly!!

Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement! The Lord is so good, always.

May you recognize His blessings in every part of your life, for He always brings good.

Beginnings of March!

Where did February go?? Gracious! It's so hard to believe it's already March! So much has happened in the past few weeks, I don't even know where to start. Life has been way to crowded to blog about!

Photobucket

In the middle of February, I was blessed to have my college friend and running buddy, Kate, come to visit me all the way in Ecuador!  We had been planning this trip since right after Christmas and I was just beyond excited to have a visitor!

Then, the story changed when my fiancé, Miles, felt The Lord opening a door for him to come serve in Ecuador. The family who he was living and working with in Honduras was leaving to go on furlough in The States for two months so we began praying for other opportunities to serve The Lord. After many months of praying, The Lord brought him to come work with a wonderful, godly missionary, Steve Thompson, in Patate, Ecuador. What a rich blessing!! God always knows what He is doing and what He has planned for our future!

So, it "just so happened" that the same weekend I was flying to Quito to go pick up Kate was the same weekend Miles would come to Quito as well! (So neat how God works out those little details). I was able to go to the airport at 1am and pick up sweet Miles, welcoming him to the beautiful country of Ecuador!

Photobucket

**Side note-- when Kate's husband Chris found out a week before Kate's trip that Miles was going to be there as well, he bought a ticket and came along too! I cannot express what a wonderful time of refreshment and encouragement that was for Miles and me. We got to see all kinds of sight-seeing parts of Ecuador that I have been wanting to see, and also just spend quality time talking about The Lord and our future as a married couple. God is so so good!

I think I'll have to make a couple of posts about all our adventures, so stay "posted!" :)

We started our journey, before Miles arrived, in the mountains north of Quito. It was verrrry cold, but beautiful! This is a dormant volcano, for the time being- and the crater inside which people actually live!

Our trip to Mitad del Mundo, or Middle of the World. Latitude and Longitude "0/0"

Watching the water drain in different directions on either side of the equator...

Walking the "hard-to-balance-with-your-eyes-closed" equator line

Photobucket

Our faithful driver, Guierrmo! He has driven almost every member of my family around in Quito!

Photobucket

Lake Cuicocha-- another crater of a volcano that is filled with water.

Photobucket

We took a ferry boat ride around the verrrry cold lake.

Photobucket

Volcanic gases coming up from the floor- can you see the bubbles??

Photobucket

life jackets...Little Mermaids :)

What a beautiful creation!

ok...that was half of day 1!! I'll get back with more soon!

Prayer Requests:

English Teacher and sweet friend Ivonne has gone to Cuenca to a more advanced hospital to have baby Nathan in the next week or so. Pray for no complications and a safe delivery!

Pray for the other English teachers as we take on more classes and prepare for a new English teacher to arrive in 2 weeks! Praise for The Lord's provision!!

Thank you so much friends for you love and prayers!

Que Dios le bendiga!
