Dear praying friends,
I want to let you know of a great need of Emanuel Christian School. Ivonne, one of our English teachers at school, is having a baby at the end of March. We are praying hard that The Lord would provide another teacher to take her place for the months of April, May, and June of this year. God is faithful to provide and we are trusting Him to fulfill this need.
If you know of someone who might be interested in teaching English to Spanish-speaking children in Macas, Ecuador at UECE, please let me know! The grades to teach are 5th-7th grade and one class of high school students.
Please be in prayer that The Lord would meet this need of the school. He is so good. How could we not trust?!

Thank you for your prayers! God is always good!

"His Love compels us..."
My utmost for His Highest this morning was quite challenging today:
"There was only one thing Paul lived for--to persuade people of the coming judgment of God and to tell them of the love of Christ. This total surrender to the love of Christ is the only thing that will bear fruit in your life. And it will always leave the mark of God's holiness and His power, never drawing attention to your personal holiness."
This should be our prayer every day...the one thing that will bear fruit in our lives is to speak loudly of Christ's Love for us! So much bigger than our daily "small potatoes" that can distract us from the most important thing.

Time is Flying!
I can't believe it is already February! My goodness how the month of January flew by! I've been teaching and teaching and teaching, and learning myself about what works and doesn't work in each classroom!
I am realizing that I haven't been taking pictures this month at all!! I have been too busy! But that is about to change. :) Here a a few pictures from a city-wide parade we had a few months ago that I never put up!
so entertaining...

Boys will be boys...
Also, I have been meeting for an (English) Bible Study with 2 other ladies all year and have yet to mention it. Lois and Andrea and I meet, when we can, on Monday after school to pray, study The Word, and sing worship songs in English, (which is something you miss after a while!) This past Monday, we had two other girls come to share prayer requests and pray with us, so the conversation quickly switched languages! :)
We continued to share, then we prayed in English and in Spanish. What a sweet time. Then, we got out our hymn books, one in each language, and found songs that were in both languages. What a precious time of worship we had, sweetest one I can remember in a long time.
We sang How Great Thou Art/Cuan Grande es Él and Amazing Grace/Sublime Gracia, two of my very favorites.
Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement! I love emails and skype dates! :)
God is so so good!

O Lord my God,
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all
The world Thy Hand hath made,
I see the stars,
I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow'r throughout
The universe displayed;
Then sings my soul,
My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
This song is such a beautiful one to me, especially in this season of life while I am living in another "world" that He has made. And to even think "in awesome wonder" about all the other worlds that are so foreign to me...different customs, clothes, food, houses, weather, mountains, trees, animals and people, all made by HIM. He is so big.
It makes my soul want to sing "How Great Thou Art!!" "Cuan Grande es Él!"
And the 3rd and 4th verses....they don't even need elaboration.
And when I think,
That God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die,
I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross,
My burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died
To take away my sin.
When Christ shall come,
With shouts of acclamation,
And take me home,
What joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim,
"My God, how great Thou art!"
Wow!! Cuan Grande es Él!! What a Mighty God we are blessed to serve!
Just listen to this beautiful song we all know by heart, but in a different language. It is still humbling to me to think about the hundreds of different tongues through which our God can be worshipped!
And then Amazing Grace--it truly is so humbling to think that a God so big, that created all this world, still loves us enough to bless us with this "Amazing Grace" that we so don't deserve.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
--not only has He saved me from eternal death through His great Grace, but He daily continues to provide everything I need, patiently teach me and grow me closer to Himself, and send rich blessings to me through my relationships and countless others! Only to name a few of those "grace moments!"
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
If you haven't seen the movie, oh it is so good.
Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement! I love emails and skype dates! :)
God is so so good!
